Scope
BibleLine is a reference atlas for the whole cast of Scripture — every named person, every datable event, and the threads of kinship that run between them. We built it to be exhaustive where most sites are selective, and candid about where its edges fall. The outline below draws that boundary: what the project covers in full, what it deliberately leaves to other tools, and the single commitment that sets it apart.
What BibleLine covers
Every named person in the Protestant 66-book canon (~3,000 records)
Every major biblical event with ≥ 2 scholarly date candidates (~30–60 anchors)
Public-domain translations: BSB (default), KJV, WEB, ASV
Genealogy relations (parent/spouse/child/sibling) rendered on every character page
Multi-view dating with transparent alternates; relative ordering for Gen 1–11
What is explicitly out of scope
Apocryphal / deuterocanonical books (Tobit, Judith, Maccabees, etc.) — scope locked to 66 books for v1
Long-form theological commentary — BibleLine is a reference, not a devotional or a seminary text
Denominational framing (“Saint X”, Catholic / Orthodox / Protestant sectarian titles) — audience is non-denominational
Licensed translations (ESV, NIV, NLT, NASB, CSB) — public-domain only, free to operate and redistribute
Full Bible reader / YouVersion replacement — we ship verse snippets + external chapter links, not a reader

Other sites cover ~100 flagship biblical figures. BibleLine covers every one of the ~3,000 people the text names — including the long tail of genealogies, priestly lists, and minor prophets.
