Record
Abraham, born Abram in Ur of the Chaldeans, is the first of the three biblical patriarchs. God called him out of Mesopotamia, promised him descendants as numerous as the stars, and renamed him Abraham in covenant. He is the father of Isaac by Sarah and Ishmael by Hagar, and is remembered across Scripture for his faith.
